Wedding website in 5 (Wix ADI)

When it comes to a wedding, nowadays it's a social requirement to have a website for it. The short story of you and your better half, the place and time, some photos, a registry, RSVP. Luckily, we live in the 21th centure, and now such websites are readily available for everyone, not just computer geeks. I made a video about creating a wedding site with Wix templates some time back. It gives a solig foundation to make a page that's customized for you bit by bit. You control every padding and border color, have access to all the Wix plugins and apps, yet you get a tamplate so you don't need to start from scratch.

But there is an even better way if you're less picky about details.

When creating a new site Wix will first ask whether you want to use ADI or not. ADI is Wix's design AI that helps you create the best user experience possible. There are actually four steps:

1. Choose site type, which is Event in this case

2. Answer 4 simple question like what kind of site you want (wedding of course), or where it's going to be.

3. Choose from the 6 gorgeous themes. These include fonts, styles and color theming.

4. Choose a design for the selected theme.

That's it, you wedding site is all set. Given that you might want to add some content to it, the whole thing might take 5 minutes tops.

Summary

Pros

  1. Development speed obviously

  2. Great design

  3. Mobile optimized

  4. You only have the relevant tools at the ready, so it's simple to fine-tune and learn

  5. Many options to choose from

  6. Free as long as you're okay with the basic stuff (like a Wix domain name or Wix ads on the site)

Cons

  1. You only have the relevant tools at the ready, so considerably less than otherwise

  2. Less customizable
